Water-based aliphatic polyurethane topcoat
High performance decorative and protective topcoat for various mechanical equipment under different conditions
Water-based aliphatic polyurethane topcoat is a two-component polyurethane coating made by mixing component A resin and component B curing agent in a 17:3 weight ratio. Suitable for decoration and protection in the fields of mechanical equipment, engineering vehicles, and steel structures.
This product uses water as the dispersing medium, with low VOC content, high hardness, wear resistance, impact resistance, as well as excellent weather resistance, corrosion resistance, and color retention performance. During construction, water-based epoxy primer and other primers must be used within the specified time after mixing. It needs to be stored in a cool and dry place, and the components have corresponding shelf lives.
Product Name: Waterborne Aliphatic Polyurethane Topcoat
Main application: High performance decorative and protective topcoat for various mechanical equipment
Features: Matte or glossy, good fullness, etc
Dry film thickness: 30-50 microns
Physicochemical properties
Water-based aliphatic polyurethane topcoat is a water-based two-component aliphatic polyurethane coating.
The paint film of this coating has water resistance, corrosion resistance, and weather resistance, and has strong adhesion on substrates such as galvanized, cold-rolled steel plates, and cast iron.
Its physical parameters include gloss (60 ° C) of 70gu, surface dryness ≤ 0.5h (25 ° C), actual dryness ≤ 5h (25 ° C), mass solid content of 54 ± 2%, volume solid content of 42 ± 2%, fully cured for 7d, theoretical coating rate of 7.7 m ²/Kg (based on a 40 micron dry film), minimum recoating time of 4h and maximum 48h, impact resistance of 50cm, adhesion level 1, curing period of 10-15 minutes, curing period of ≥ 14 days, and ratio (mass ratio) of main paint: curing agent=10:1.
This coating has low VOC (≤ 80g/L) characteristics, minimal pollution during construction, and is non flammable and non explosive, making transportation and storage relatively safe.

application Area
Waterborne aliphatic polyurethane topcoat is mainly used for surface protection of metal components such as large steel structures, sports halls, bridges, petrochemical oil tanks, mechanical equipment, steel structures, etc., which require extremely high weather resistance and anti-corrosion performance.
Used in conjunction with high-performance water-based epoxy/water-based inorganic zinc rich primer, it can be used in C4M protection level scenarios such as chemical plants. When applied in the field of construction machinery, special attention should be paid to surface cleaning before topcoat spraying, continuous application of topcoat, viscosity stability, anti sagging, dryness, anti prickly heat, and compatibility with putty layer.
Construction method
Airless spraying: Recommended for use
Brushing or roller coating: applicable
Traditional spraying: applicable
It is recommended to use high-pressure airless spraying to obtain a uniform and good coating; Traditional spraying, brushing, or roller coating can also be used. Before construction, the main paint must be stirred evenly, and then the curing agent must be added strictly according to the weight ratio and stirred. After mixing evenly, it should be left for 10-15 minutes (curing) before construction. If the viscosity is too thick, it can be diluted with clean tap water to a suitable construction viscosity. The recommended amount of water added is 5% to 10% of the original paint weight. Multiple layers of construction are used, and the subsequent coating can only be carried out after the previous layer of paint film has dried.
Surface treatment requires all surfaces to be clean, dry, and free of contamination, and should be evaluated and treated in accordance with ISO 8504.
Can be used in conjunction with most water-based epoxy intermediate paints and primers. Example supporting scheme (for C4M protection level): 1 Waterborne epoxy zinc rich primer 70 μ m; 2. Water based epoxy cloud iron intermediate paint 100 μ m; 3. Waterborne aliphatic polyurethane topcoat 80 μ m .
The construction environment requires a relative humidity of less than 85%, a construction surface temperature greater than 0 ℃ and 3 ℃ higher than the dew point temperature. In narrow or enclosed environments, equipment should be added to maintain ventilation. Outdoor construction is not allowed in rainy or snowy weather.
